Biography

 

Sharon is an award winning artist who has had a life long love of art and painting.  Life circumstances led Sharon to choose a twenty eight year career in the military but she still made opportunities to study art and to paint.  Sharon has studied art at various art schools including The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts,  and Barnstone Studios and has studied Landscape Painting with Dot Bunn.   She is a member of the Philadelphia Sketch Club, and number of local Art Clubs. the Rockport Art Association, and is also a member of the Artists Fellowship.  Sharon also studies Icon Painting using Egg Tempera.

 Sharon continues to paint En Plein Air.  She is a visiting artist, teaching at Ravens Run Summer Art Camp in New Hope, Pennsylvania, and teaches childrens art classes.  Sharon's Plein Air paintings are painted on site in Bucks County, the Philadelphia area, Burlington County, The Delaware River along the canal in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  She also paints while traveling to the Pacific and New England.  Her commission portraits, posthumous portraits and landscapes are in collections throughout the United States.  Gallery representation is through the Farnsworth Gallery in Bordentown, New Jersey.  Her paintings are on exhibit at The Centerbridge Inn, in New Hope Pennsylvania.  

2007 Awards include:  Phillips Mill Lacey Family Small Oil Painting Award, 1st Place, US Army Oil Painting Award, Ransley Annual Juried Show Special Award for Oil Landscape, 2d Place Award Burlington County Art Guild Creations Gallery Juried Show, Merit Award Willingboro Art Alliance Annual Juried show at the Finkller Gallery.
